Clinical assessment, under pressure
Paramedics assess vital signs, medications, and neurological status in the field every shift — skills honed where seconds matter, now applied calmly and preventively.
At Salus Paramedic Care, we believe the best emergency is the one that never happens. Here's why we built a new type of healthcare service — and why Firefighter/Paramedics are uniquely qualified to deliver it.
Meet the founder
Chris has served as a Firefighter/Paramedic since 2018 and is a Lieutenant with Tamarac Fire Rescue and its EMS Team. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nova Southeastern University, with nursing experience in the emergency department and pre- and post-surgical care since 2017.
His clinical skill isn't just experience — it's award-winning: Chris is a three-time Florida ALS Competition Champion and took first place at the NAVRA EMS World Competition.
Years of responding to emergencies that could have been prevented led him to one conviction — and to founding Salus: the best emergency is the one that never happens. Instead of meeting families on the worst day of their lives, Salus exists to make sure that day never comes.
Christopher Curbelo — Founder
Uniquely qualified
No other profession combines clinical assessment skills, home-hazard expertise, and thousands of hours inside real homes during real crises.
Paramedics assess vital signs, medications, and neurological status in the field every shift — skills honed where seconds matter, now applied calmly and preventively.
Firefighters see how home accidents and fires actually start. That trained eye spots the loose rug, the overloaded outlet, and the dead smoke alarm battery others walk past.
Emergency responders have been inside more homes than almost anyone. They know what "before the emergency" looks like — because they've seen the after, again and again.
A new category of care
Because Salus is the first service of its kind, families often ask where we fit. It's simple:
At its core, Salus is built on three promises
Prevent emergencies. Protect independence. Provide peace of mind.
